The Bachelor of Science in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) at ETH Zurich combines mathematics, computer science, and engineering or natural science applications to address modern interdisciplinary problems using computational and simulation approaches. The curriculum is structured to provide foundational knowledge in mathematics, physics, and computer science in the first year (which can also be completed in a related program at ETH Zurich or another university). The second year deepens these fundamentals and introduces basic natural and engineering sciences. The third year focuses on core computational topics such as high performance computing, machine learning, and software design, a required specialization, electives, case studies, and the Bachelor thesis. The program aims to train students to solve real-world scientific and engineering challenges using advanced computational methods, preparing graduates for both advanced study and professional work across research and industry.
