ETH Zurich’s Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition (from Autumn 2024, previously called Food Science) is a system-oriented, interdisciplinary program offered by the Department of Health Sciences and Technology. The program provides fundamentals in natural sciences (biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics), social sciences, and food science subjects (food chemistry, analysis, microbiology, biotechnology, human nutrition). Students learn about safe, high-quality, healthy food production, processing, storage, and distribution. The curriculum includes practicals, excursions, and culminates in a bachelor’s thesis. Graduates are equipped for careers in the food industry, administration, commercial sector, as well as NGOs and international organizations.
