EPFL’s Master of Science in Mathematics lets students choose advanced coursework either in theoretical mathematics or applied mathematics. The curriculum includes core subjects such as analysis, algebra, geometry, topology and number theory for theory-focused students, and applied analysis, numerical analysis, statistics, probability, optimization for applied-focused students. Graduates are prepared for careers in education, private industry, and government, and the program provides an excellent foundation for doctoral studies in mathematics. The primary teaching language is English, with some optional courses in French.
