EPFL's Master of Science in Physics, offered by the School of Basic Sciences (SB), provides comprehensive advanced education and research training across all core areas of physics. Students acquire in-depth knowledge through advanced coursework in theoretical, experimental, and applied physics, supplemented by strong research group involvement. The program covers modern fields such as quantum science, condensed matter, biophysics, astrophysics, energy physics, plasma and nuclear physics. Flexible curriculum options enable students to pursue a broad studies or focus on a particular specialization, and a substantial part of the program is dedicated to hands-on research culminating with a master's thesis (4-6 months). Graduates are highly employable, prepared for research, R&D, or management in academia or industry.
