EPFL's Bachelor of Science in Microengineering (School of Engineering, STI) provides a multidisciplinary education in miniaturization techniques, materials science, mechanical effects, embedded systems, and robotics. The program combines scientific fundamentals, hands-on design and prototyping, and exposure to practical realities, including a CAD project and machining internship. The first year is dedicated to mastering foundational scientific tools. Subsequent years focus on microtechnology subjects and a capstone project. Graduates are trained for R&D, production, and innovation in industries such as electronics, aerospace, biomedical devices, telecommunications, and watchmaking, or for further academic research.
