Utrecht University's Master of Science in Earth Sciences is a two-year graduate program offered by the Faculty of Geosciences, with instruction in English. The program provides advanced training in the study of Earth processes, combining coursework, research, and optional internships. Students select one of four research specializations: 1) Earth, Life and Climate (biosphere-geosphere-climate interactions), 2) Earth Structure and Dynamics (deep Earth processes, plate tectonics), 3) Earth Surface and Water (hydrosphere-geosphere interactions), and 4) Marine Sciences (seas and oceans processes). All tracks emphasize quantitative research and analytical methods, supported by state-of-the-art labs and field instruments. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, industry, and environmental consultancy.
