Stony Brook University's Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering program, offered by the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, prepares students to design and create digital hardware and software systems for a wide range of applications. The program provides a foundational education in mathematics, physics, and core electrical engineering during the first two years, followed by advanced study in computer architecture, software engineering, operating systems, and elective topics such as digital signal processing and embedded system design. Students participate in hands-on labs, internships, and a senior design project, gaining practical experience and teamwork skills. The curriculum is ABET-accredited. Graduates are equipped for careers designing microprocessor-based systems, software systems, and hardware for consumer electronics, industrial machinery, or automotive applications, as well as advanced study in graduate programs.
