The Political Theory track within the MSc in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam immerses students in political theory and applied philosophy from both abstract and practical perspectives. Designed for those interested in justice, legitimacy, power, and other core political concepts, the program equips students with conceptual and methodological tools to critically analyse contemporary political life. Students engage in intensive coursework, group study, elective modules, and conclude with a thesis based on a substantial research project, preparing graduates for analytic and policy-relevant roles in academia, government, NGOs, or the private sector.
