The European Competition Law and Regulation track, part of the LLM in International and European Law at the University of Amsterdam, provides specialisation in competition law and the regulatory frameworks governing European economic activities in digitally evolving markets. The programme combines legal theory and critical approaches, teaching practical and fundamental skills for analyzing issues like state aid, digital market regulation, private sustainability initiatives, and legal aspects of the platform economy (e.g., Uber, Airbnb). Students benefit from the university’s close collaboration with specialist research centers such as ACLE and ACELG, as well as experiential learning in the Amsterdam Law Practice. Graduates are prepared for careers as competition lawyers, legal advisors to multinational firms, or roles in regulatory institutions within the EU and beyond.
