The Master’s program at the Nuclear Professional School, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, is designed to train advanced nuclear engineers and professionals equipped with a broad and fundamental understanding of the technical, managerial, and safety-related challenges surrounding nuclear energy. The curriculum covers reactor physics, nuclear fuel cycles, nuclear safety, radiation protection, and the management and operation of nuclear facilities. The program, highly regarded in the Asia-Pacific region, intends to address Japan’s and the world’s future energy and environmental needs through advanced education and interdisciplinary research, and prepares graduates for technical or leadership careers in the nuclear sector. Instruction is mainly in Japanese, though some research and instruction may be conducted in English.
