The International Joint Master Degree Program in Global Markets, Local Creativities (GLOCAL), launched by Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Economics in partnership with the University of Glasgow and the University of Barcelona, is a two-year joint master's program. Students study in three cities (Kyoto, Glasgow, Barcelona), and upon completion, receive a joint degree awarded by all three universities. The program is interdisciplinary, focusing on the intersection of global markets and the local dynamism of creativity and entrepreneurship, combining theory and practice across economics, business, social sciences, and creative industries. Students take core and elective courses, participate in seminars, and have access to internships and placements. Instruction is in English. The program aims to develop high-level analytical, intercultural, and practical skills for global careers in business, policy, and research.
