Kyoto University's Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) program, offered by the Faculty of Science, is designed to provide students with a deep foundation in mathematical theory and applications across pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematical physics, statistics, and related fields. The program emphasizes analytical thinking, abstract reasoning, and problem-solving skills, preparing graduates for advanced studies or careers which require strong quantitative and logical abilities. Courses cover core topics such as calculus, linear algebra, number theory, probability and statistics, and students may participate in research and advanced seminars as they progress. The majority of undergraduate instruction is in Japanese, with select opportunities for research and international collaborations at the senior level.
