The Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astrophysics at the Faculty of Science, Kyoto University offers broad training in both fundamental physics and astronomy. Students spend their first two years obtaining a comprehensive foundation in mathematics, general physics, and introductory informatics. In the third and fourth years, they specialize in physics and astrophysics, taking advanced courses such as quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, electromagnetism, analytical mechanics, general astronomy, astronomical observations, and experimental physics. The program emphasizes both theoretical and observational skills, preparing students for scientific research or advanced graduate studies. Research experiences in their final year allow students to engage deeply with current scientific topics in physics and astrophysics.
