The Undergraduate International Course Program of Civil Engineering at Kyoto University's Faculty of Engineering is a four-year English-taught degree designed for both international and Japanese students. All classes are provided in English, with additional opportunities to study Japanese. The curriculum focuses on core fundamentals in mathematics and physics for the first two years, followed by intensive civil engineering, environmental, and resource-related subjects. The program aims to develop engineers with the capacity to address global infrastructure and environmental challenges, especially in urban and regional areas throughout Asia and Africa. In the final year, students engage in research within specialized laboratories, possibly relocating to advanced facilities such as the Katsura Campus. Graduates are prepared for roles as self-reliant engineers, researchers, or policy makers who contribute to sustainable development.
