Nutritional Science for Animals is a program within the Animal Science course of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kyoto University. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of comparative animal nutrition, nutrient metabolism, physiology, energy regulation, and the roles of vitamins and minerals, as well as the metabolic impacts of bioactive substances found in food and feed. Students first receive a broad foundation in bioresource science during their first and second years before specializing in animal nutritional science from the third year onward, culminating in focused study and research in the fourth year. The program prepares students for advanced work in animal nutrition, livestock management, and related research fields.
