The Master's in International Development at IBEI is a one-year, interdisciplinary programme designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to address global development challenges through both theoretical insight and practical skills. The curriculum covers development theory, research methods, analytical tools, and major global debates. Students can specialize through over 60 elective courses focusing on trade, globalization, social movements, resource conflicts, and sustainable development. Practitioner-oriented modules provide hands-on experience in program design, evaluation, and policy analysis. The program features an international faculty and fosters transferable skills for careers in international organizations, public policy, NGOs, and academia. The curriculum is updated starting 2025-2026 to align with new sector demands. The final master’s degree is jointly awarded by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the University of Barcelona, and the Pompeu Fabra University. All courses are taught in English in Barcelona.
