The Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Barcelona (Facultat de Biologia) provides fundamental knowledge to understand the biological processes underlying living systems, with a strong emphasis on the molecular basis of these processes. The curriculum includes basic training in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics, progressing into core areas such as cellular and molecular biology, metabolism regulation, macromolecular structure, bioenergetics, protein engineering, and clinical biochemistry. Methodological training covers genetic, protein, metabolic, and systems engineering. The program is taught mainly in Catalan and Spanish, with select courses in English. Students can select courses across five principal branches (Biology, Environmental Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Biomedicine) and may participate in internships, research projects, and international exchange programs.
