The Master of Music (MM) at the Mead Witter School of Music, University of Wisconsin-Madison, provides advanced professional training across a variety of musical disciplines. The program offers tracks in Performance and Music Education, and allows students to work closely with accomplished faculty in state-of-the-art facilities. Students will gain experience in their chosen area through a blend of performance or educational practice, seminars, and interactions with guest artists and scholars. Performance majors must successfully complete recitals and demonstrate artistic mastery, while all students will take comprehensive examinations measuring musical knowledge in history and the major discipline. Graduates are prepared to continue on to doctoral study or to pursue advanced careers in music.
