Penn State Dickinson Law’s LL.M. program is a flexible, one-year, full-time program designed for internationally trained lawyers and U.S. law graduates seeking advanced expertise in American law. The program allows students to concentrate in select areas of law—such as Families, Children, and the Law—meeting 9 credits of specialized requirements within the required 24-credit curriculum. All LL.M. students study alongside J.D. candidates and can choose from various electives, including experiential learning opportunities (clinics, externships). The Families, Children, and the Law concentration covers topics such as child advocacy, family law, social justice, and related legal systems, equipping graduates with knowledge pertinent to legal practice in family and child-focused settings.
