The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the Penn State College of Medicine is a CEPH-accredited, 42-credit degree that prepares students as public health leaders through a student-centered, individualized curriculum. The program emphasizes the five core areas of public health—biostatistics, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, health services administration, and social and behavioral sciences. Students specialize in one of three key areas: community and behavioral health, epidemiology and biostatistics, or health systems organization and policy. Courses are scheduled in the late afternoons and evenings, allowing both full- and part-time attendance. The program requires an internship and capstone experience, designed to integrate academic learning with professional practice. Graduates are well prepared for roles in government, private sector organizations, NGOs, and research.
