The Agricultural and Biorenewable Systems Management (ABSM) program at Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences integrates engineering technology, natural resources, and agriculture with business, operations, and management. Administered by the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, the ABSM major prepares students for careers in the emerging circular bioeconomy, renewable bioproducts, and agricultural industries through a multidisciplinary curriculum. Students gain foundational and applied science knowledge, communication, managerial, and systems analysis skills for effective industry leadership. Hands-on learning through internships, clubs, and research, as well as study abroad opportunities, are emphasized. Graduates are qualified for roles such as technical consultants, quality assurance personnel, sustainability specialists, and sales representatives, and can pursue further graduate study in science, engineering, or business.
