The B.F.A. in Acting at Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture is a rigorous, pre-professional degree designed for students pursuing professional careers in theatre, film, or television. Over four years, students undergo intensive training in acting, movement, and voice with individualized attention from faculty who are active professionals in acting, directing, and coaching. The program’s curriculum incorporates techniques such as Meisner, Chekhov, Lecoq, Fitzmaurice, Bartinieff, and Laban, and integrates creation and devising processes. In the third year, students participate in a study-abroad experience at Theatre Academy London, training with British faculty in a city renowned for its theatre scene. The program emphasizes both artistic excellence and personal discovery, culminating in showcase productions and ongoing performance opportunities throughout the degree.
