Penn State Altoona’s Bachelor of Science in Rail Transportation Engineering (RTE) is the first and only ABET-accredited undergraduate program of its kind in the United States. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in the railway industry, covering engineering design, the maintenance and management of railroad infrastructure, railway communications and signals, and railcar and locomotive systems. Students benefit from in-depth classroom instruction and hands-on learning, including internships across the U.S. and active collaboration with the rail industry.
