The Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies at Penn State's College of the Liberal Arts explores the civilizations of the ancient Mediterranean world—including Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East—through interdisciplinary study of languages, literatures, history, politics, religion, mythologies, philosophies, and material culture. Students can focus on ancient languages, archaeology, or a broad interdisciplinary approach. The program encourages participation in education abroad programs and archaeological fieldwork. Graduates gain analytical skills and cultural understanding applicable to diverse careers and further academic study.
