The B.A. in French and Francophone Studies at the College of the Liberal Arts, The Pennsylvania State University, provides students the opportunity to develop fluency in French while fostering an appreciation and critical understanding of French and Francophone literature and culture. The program offers three options—Language and Culture, Language and Literature, and Language and Linguistics—enabling students to tailor their studies to their personal and professional interests. Students benefit from small, interactive classrooms, immersive events, faculty-led courses, and encouragement to study abroad. The major prepares students for interdisciplinary professional careers where French is an asset, promoting cultural competence, analytical skills, and global awareness.
