The Bachelor of Science in Premedicine at Eberly College of Science, Penn State, provides students with a rigorous foundation in the sciences required for medical school. The curriculum combines courses in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, biology, ethics, and the social sciences, offering flexibility to tailor the academic plan with electives, supporting courses, or minors to fit personal goals. This major prepares students comprehensively for the academic and experiential requirements of medical school by developing deep scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and exposure to related fields. Students can leverage academic and career advising—including prehealth advising—throughout the program. A three-year accelerated path exists that allows eligible students to complete undergraduate credits and then begin an accredited medical or dental program, with credits from the first year of medical/dental school counting toward the BS degree.
