The BSc International Social and Public Policy with Economics at LSE is a joint honours programme that enables students to rigorously study both social policy and economics. Students learn to apply economic concepts to contemporary social policy issues such as poverty, international development, welfare, and work. The curriculum covers the formulation and implementation of policy, the impact of markets and governments on society, and the role of economics in designing and evaluating public policy. The interdisciplinary degree provides a global perspective on how different countries finance and provide social services, as well as core training in both micro- and macroeconomics. The programme consists of 12 units over 3 years, plus the LSE100 interdisciplinary course, and culminates in a third-year dissertation.
