The LL.M. with a Concentration in International Humanitarian and Security Law at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law is a specialized graduate program exploring the major contemporary challenges and theories in international humanitarian law, security law, and related fields. The program reflects Canada’s bilingual and bijural (civil and common law) context and integrates global trends, preparing students for research and practice in this evolving area. Coursework options include a thesis or a substantial research paper, as well as a range of electives in human rights, Indigenous rights, national security law, and more. The program is offered in both English and French; students may complete assignments and research in either language.
