The BK21 Human Life and Innovation Design Convergence master's program at Yonsei University's College of Human Ecology is a multidisciplinary graduate research degree jointly run by the Department of Child and Family Studies and the Department of Integrated Design. It aims to develop social innovation experts who can create sustainable solutions to real-world social problems. The curriculum emphasizes convergence and specialization—integrating design, human development, and creative problem-solving using the humanities and advanced design theory. Students engage in theory-research-practice cycles, supported by both domestic and international research and scholarship opportunities. As of its fourth BK21 phase (since 2020), it stands as a flagship program for fostering social innovation and multidisciplinary design professionals in South Korea.
