The Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies at Underwood International College (UIC), Yonsei University, is a fully English-taught, liberal arts undergraduate program designed to offer an interdisciplinary understanding of Asia’s history, cultures, societies, and languages. UIC is renowned as Korea’s first four-year college taught exclusively in English. The Asian Studies major equips students with regional expertise and critical perspectives on Asia, fostering a global outlook and preparing graduates for careers in academia, diplomacy, journalism, and business. The program highlights participation in diverse seminars, research projects, and direct engagement with contemporary Asian issues. The major is part of UIC's HASS (Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences) Division, located at the Yonsei International Campus in Songdo. Due to recent administrative restructuring in 2025, there have been concerns about the direct admissions quota for the Asian Studies major, but the curriculum and instruction remain active for 2025 entry.
