The Science, Technology, and Policy (STP) major at Underwood International College (UIC), Yonsei University is a unique multi-disciplinary undergraduate program. It prepares students to understand both the technical and social dimensions of science and technology, applying interdisciplinary critical thinking to national and international policy issues. The curriculum combines methods and concepts from the humanities, social sciences, and technical sciences to analyze science and technology's complex interactions with the social world, and with public policy concerns such as economic growth, global health, and security. Structured around seminars, laboratory work, and internships, the program equips students to analyze data, understand scientific logic, and engage in current policy debates on issues such as global warming, GMOs, and technological innovation. All instruction is conducted in English. The program is situated within the Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences (HASS) Division of UIC.
