The Bachelor of Science in Social Data Science (SDSC) at the University of Maryland, College Park, jointly offered by the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) and the College of Information, prepares students to address complex human data challenges. The curriculum integrates concepts and skills in data conceptualization, gathering, management, analysis, and communication, underpinned by strong grounding in social science theory. Students can specialize through tracks such as Sociology, Economics, Government & Politics, Psychology, Public Health, and others, gaining both core quantitative/data science skills and domain expertise to ethically and effectively analyze human behavior with data. Graduates will be prepared for careers or further study in social research, data analytics, policy, or related areas.
