NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science’s Department of English offers a research-focused MA in English that emphasizes broad historical coverage and innovative approaches to literary studies. Students develop advanced skills in critical thinking and writing, participate in faculty- and student-led research clusters and working groups, and complete a supervised 35–45-page Master’s Thesis in the second year. The program can be pursued as part of a dual-degree with Long Island University’s Library and Information Science and offers access to an Advanced Certificate in Digital Humanities. Admitted MA students receive an English Department Scholarship covering 50% of tuition (excluding registration and services fees).
