NYU’s Comparative Literature MA studies literature as an intercultural discipline embedded in wider sociocultural contexts and philosophical questions, enabling students to work extra‑nationally, cross‑culturally, and historically across movements, periods, genres, interrelations, criticism, and theory. The curriculum requires 32 credits, of which 20 are in Comparative Literature and 12 may be taken outside the department, supporting interdisciplinary study.
