The MS in Biomaterials Science at New York University focuses on the basic material properties and structure of biomaterials used in medicine and dentistry, emphasizing biologic interactions related to composition, surface, architecture, and function, as well as methods to investigate structure–function–biologic interactions. The degree is awarded by NYU College of Dentistry’s Department of Molecular Pathobiology, Division of Biomaterials and Regenerative Biology, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and training aimed at careers in R&D in academia and industry or preparation for further advanced study (e.g., PhD). Three degree options are available aligned to students’ goals, including thesis-based and coursework/guided studies paths.
