NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program is a two-year intensive MFA emphasizing collaboration among composers, lyricists, and bookwriters. The heart of the program is team-taught writing labs and workshops focused on craft, storytelling in music/lyrics/book, the art of collaboration, rewriting, and developing a distinctive voice. Students rotate collaborators in year one to create projects across media; in year two they primarily work with the same collaborators to create a full-length original musical theatre work.
