NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing’s Psychiatric‑Mental Health NP master’s program prepares nurses to provide comprehensive psychiatric‑mental healthcare across the lifespan—children, adolescents, adults, and older adults—and to sit for the ANCC PMHNP certification (PMHNP‑BC) and obtain NP licensure in New York and other U.S. states. The curriculum emphasizes psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, psychotherapy (individual, group, family), and psychopharmacology; opportunities exist to develop specialized expertise in substance use/addictive disorders and trauma. All practicum placements are arranged by PMHNP faculty with supervision by licensed psychiatric clinicians across premier health systems and diverse community settings in the New York metropolitan area .
