NYU Law’s four-year JD–LLM in International Law is a specialized dual-degree for a small cohort of outstanding NYU JD students seeking advanced expertise in international law and close mentorship. Participants are designated Institute for International Law and Justice (IILJ) Scholars and receive financial assistance for the four years of study. Students apply to IILJ in the 2L year and to the Office of Graduate Admissions for the full-time LLM in International Legal Studies in the 3L year. The LLM portion follows the International Legal Studies requirements, including designated credits across International Law, Comparative and Foreign Law, and International Litigation and Arbitration, with special requirements for JD–LLM students communicated separately by Graduate Affairs/IILJ.
