NYU College of Arts & Science (CAS) and NYU Tandon School of Engineering offer a coordinated five‑year dual-degree in which students earn a BS from CAS (majoring in Mathematics) and a BS from Tandon (majoring in Electrical Engineering). The program has existed since Fall 2010 and is intended for highly qualified, technically oriented students who want both a liberal‑arts foundation and professional engineering training. Students must start the required dual-degree sequence in the first year; CAS Core Curriculum is completed with a foreign‑language exemption, as STEM requirements satisfy Foundations of Scientific Inquiry. The curriculum plan includes early sequences in calculus, linear algebra, physics with labs, introductory CS, and an engineering design course at Tandon, followed by advanced mathematics (e.g., Analysis, Probability, ODEs, Complex Variables) and foundational ECE courses (e.g., Fundamentals of Electric Circuits), leading to the EE degree completion at Tandon alongside the Mathematics major at CAS.
