The BS in Neural Science at NYU’s College of Arts & Science is conferred by the Center for Neural Science and provides a multidisciplinary foundation for studying brain function. Experimental approaches span molecular and cellular mechanisms, neural circuits, systems-level behavior, and psychological studies, complemented by mathematical and computational modeling. The major is a BS only (no BA or minor) and typically includes core lecture and lab courses such as Introduction to Neural Science, Cellular & Molecular Neurobiology, Behavioral & Integrative Neuroscience, and advanced electives. An honors track requires maintaining approximately a 3.65 GPA in the major and overall, completion of an honors seminar and a laboratory course, a research presentation, and an honors thesis.
