NYU Abu Dhabi’s Theater program is an academic and artistic laboratory focused on theater research, scholarship, and practice. It combines rigorous artist training with a solid scholarly foundation in theater history, theory, and criticism, and provides exposure to diverse transnational cultural practices through study and production work on campus and abroad. Theater at NYUAD emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, with experiences in practice-based classes, scholarly seminars, mainstage productions led by professional artists, student-led projects, apprenticeships with companies in residence, visiting artists, and a capstone project in the senior year.
