The Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing at the University of Regina's Faculty of Arts provides advanced training in both English literary studies and creative writing. The program offers three routes: course-based, project-based, and thesis-based. The project-based MA (most common for Creative Writing) requires seven courses (five in English Literature/Theory and two in Creative Writing) plus a major academic or creative project with a public presentation. The thesis-based route focuses on five courses (three in English Literature/Theory and two in Creative Writing) and a creative thesis with a critical introduction. Students explore literature, develop advanced research, writing, public speaking skills, and cultivate their own creative voice through coursework and mentorship. Graduates are prepared for doctoral study or diverse careers in writing, research, and communication fields.
