The Media and Artistic Research MA, MFA, and PhD at the University of Regina are designed for highly qualified students whose research and creative work extends beyond traditional boundaries in media, art, and performance. Students benefit from a cross-disciplinary environment supported by advanced facilities, expert faculty, and opportunities for original artistic and academic research. The program requires students to propose and develop innovative projects that both demonstrate advanced disciplinary skill and make original contributions through new works of art/scholarship integrated with critical, methodological, and aesthetic inquiry. MA/MFA students must complete a major project and accompanying research paper; PhD candidates must create an original art work and thesis (100–150 pages) and present research to the Faculty through the Doctoral Research Showcase. Graduates are prepared for careers as professional artists, curators, academics, arts administrators, and more.
